Good 1-hour experiences run small and the great ones close out early. Below: the 11 to book ahead, what each includes and how they differ once you are afloat.
Meet the AdVentoure Kayak team at 1 Juan Reverón Sierra Street in Los Cristianos, receive a route and safety briefing, then carry a rigid paddleboard to the bay for one hour of independent paddling. You can explore toward the Guaza cliffs, watch seabirds, float, or sunbathe.

Meet the English-speaking Joyride Watersports Gozo team at Hondoq Bay, kayak the coast for an hour, pause at a small beach, then ride by boat into Santa Maria Caves. You’ll be dropped at Comino’s Blue Lagoon for swimming and snorkeling, with pickup arranged later.
“Overall a great day. Kayaking into caves was fun, we had 4 adults and 4 children, ranging from age 5-9 and they all enjoyed it. Speedboat was lots of fun- very fast- you will get splashed! Then the blue lagoon was beautiful with great snorkelling although very busy even in October.”
From Dukes The Palm, you get one hour on Dubai’s water in a single kayak, double kayak, or stand-up kayak. An English-speaking host or greeter helps you get started, while you paddle independently toward beachside picnic areas and harbor views.
Start at Fenals Beach with a safety briefing, then paddle a stable double kayak along Lloret de Mar’s southern Costa Brava. Guides Oscar and Yago lead small groups of up to 10 past rocky coves, marine life, birds, and a clear natural pool.

Meet your instructor at BonaOna Surf School in Can Pastilla for a private one-hour paddleboarding lesson. You will learn balance and rowing technique, then practice on Palma Bay with equipment, a rash guard, lockers, showers, and Wi-Fi included. Spanish and English instruction is available.

Spend one hour on a stand-up paddleboard from Golden Beach, gliding across the Pumicestone Passage toward Bribie Island. Carl, Nicky, Tallon, and the team provide safety gear, quick instruction, tide advice, and practical help for first-time paddlers. Wildlife sightings may include rays, birds, and kangaroos.
“Had a great 1 hr SUP. My wife and I had never tried previously so don’t let that put you off having a go. A quick few minutes explaining what to do and off we went. Managed not to fall off so that was a positive. Nice quiet location and plenty of shallow water for you to practice in.”
Paddle from Marina Grande to Queen Giovanna’s Baths with a certified English-speaking guide, stopping at a secret cove along the way. Stable single, double, or triple kayaks, safety gear, photos, and one free hour of paddleboarding are included.

Join an English-speaking canoe guide for a one-hour paddle from Fort Augustus along Loch Ness. You will use a stable Canadian-style canoe, hear local myths and history, explore the River Oich mouth, and finish with hot soup, oatcakes, and local cheese.
Pick up a double kayak in Riomaggiore and paddle along Cinque Terre’s coast at your own pace. You’ll get life jackets, dry bags, and snorkeling masks, with staff offering route advice in English or Italian. Calm seas are required, and the kayak holds up to 100kg.

Join a certified guide at Bonaire’s Lac Bay for a relaxed kayak trip through protected mangrove channels. You’ll paddle calm, clear water, learn how mangroves shelter marine life, and return to the Mangrove Center after about 90 minutes. Dry bags, lockers, water, and an outdoor shower are included.

Meet your Portuguese or English-speaking instructor at the beach, receive paddle gear and a safety briefing, then practice basic techniques before heading out to sea. This one-hour Albufeira session suits all ages, costs $20 per person, and includes coastal views with possible sightings of fish, seabirds, and dolphins.
